I am trying to get on a new diet and have heard alot about the Atkins Diet. So I was wondering if anyone has lost alot of weight doing Atkins. Some of my friends say that The South Beach Diet is better because you don't need to cut out carbs completely and instead you can have some carbohydrates in your diet. But I hear that may be a slower process? Is that true? I would love to hear about anyone's advice on this. or their experience with the Atkins diet. Does it work? Do you feel hungry? And also what about your energy level? I don't want to be tired all the time either. Any advice u have is greatly appreciated!

I think that the Atkins diet is not a great solution to weight loss. Maybe you can do it for a few days and drop some pounds, but overall you are cutting out your main source of energy and it WILL leave you feeling tired and drained. I would suggest the South Beach Diet over Atkins any day because it is a more realistic approach to a healthier way of living. You can modify the carbs by eating whole wheat and it is best to consume the carbs earlier in the day and avoid eating them for dinner. Good Luck to you and your weight loss!

I have tried the South Beach Diet. It totally messed up my digestive track and I had to go to a nutritionist to re-teach my stomach how to digest foods. I am a true believer of Weight Watchers
